Catchin' for Kids

What
started in
2003 as a simple Rockfish tournament to support underprivileged
children in Hampton Roads has grown. As long ago as 2005, we
were winners
of the "Group Achievement Award” presented by the
Volunteer
Hampton Roads Group committee
www.volunteerhr.org.
In 2013 we are hosting at least three
events for the local fishing community--our two big fishing
tournaments, plus entertaining kids again at the Virginia Beach
Boat Show. And again this year we are supporting VBBFC with their
annual HOFNOD Oyster Roast.
The Catchin' for Kids
Rockfish
Tournament has traditionally been our biggest event of the year. (See
details about it via the Tournaments link.) Each
year the tournament
helps collect toys for Christmas gifts and also to raise additional
funds for needy and
underprivileged children in the Hampton
Roads
communities. Catchin' for Kids places Toys for
Tots collection boxes around the Hampton Roads area during the
time leading up to our Rockfish Tournament. The 2012 tournament is
history now, but the 2013 event is rapidly approaching. Night fishing
has been reinstated, and if the weather's good, we will expect a
bang-up event. We thank you for your
contributions
and support in the past, and look forward to seeing you at this year's
tournament in December.
